ASUS are now engaging the wearable devices battle with their first wearable device the Zenwatch.

ASUS ZenWatch is the first wearable device from ASUS, powered by Android Wear and featuring a version of the ASUS ZenUI user interface developed specifically for ZenWatch. This exquisitely-crafted and slim device pairs seamlessly with a smartphone running Android™ 4.3 or higher to provide relevant and useful information when it is needed most, and also to serve as a personal wellness manager in conjunction with the ASUS ZenUI Wellness app.

Explaining the design philosophy of the ZenWatch concept, Mitch Yang said “Our design philosophy is Start with People. We want to deliver a seamless digital experience for everyone to enjoy. With our ZenWatch, you will always be connected to everything that matters in your life.”

ZenWatch brings the luxury tradition of fine watchmaking to Android Wear, with an elegant, detail-focused design and use of high-quality materials. It is designed for supreme comfort, with a soft genuine stitched-leather strap and quick-release clasp. The 2.5D curved glass increases usability with a smooth and responsive touch experience. ZenWatch comes with a selection of instantly-changeable software watch faces, allowing users to customize ZenWatch easily to match their style.

ZenWatch is much more than a sophisticated timepiece. With a range of practical smart features, including Watch Unlock, Tap Tap, Remote Camera, Cover to Mute, Find My Phone and Presentation Control, ZenWatch is the perfect smart companion. Its seamless integration with ASUS ZenUI adds even more functionality for owners of ASUS smartphones, letting users enjoy enhanced versions of exclusive ASUS ZenUI apps such as What’s Next and Do It Later.

Thanks to its integrated 9-axis sensor, ZenWatch is also a fully-featured wellness manager. The companion ASUS ZenUI Wellness app lets users monitor and track a range of wellness statistics including steps taken, calories burned, activity duration, heart rate, exercise intensity and relaxation level. Users can set and monitor personal fitness goals with ease, and see their progress at a glance.

ZenWatch raises the bar on what users should expect from wearable devices, showcasing the power of the ASUS ‘design thinking’ philosophy and ushering in a new era of true luxury and sophistication.

Although the youngest but the specifications are fairly competent in his class owned call it 1GB of RAM and a 4-inch screen. Priced at 3,995PHP only, Zenfone 4 steal the market and other competitors dropped? Then just read the review below.

Unboxing

  • ASUS Zenfone 4
  • 1 Battery
  • Travel Charger
  • Micro USB Cable
  • Manual
  • Warranty Card

Build and Design

Basically the Zenfone have a similar design concept. For this little brother Asus gives body made entirely of plastic and used in accordance with the name'' Zen'', Zenfone 4 given accent stripes circular capacitive buttons at the bottom. This phone has a dimension of 124.4 x fitting digenggaman 61.4 x 11.5 mm and weighs 115 grams. Moreover, the angle of the curve and the rough texture of the back of a grip is not slippery and do not be afraid scratched.

ASUS Zenfone 4 has 4-inch screen WVGA resolution and it's not Corning on Gorilla Glass 3 like what other people are saying this is based on what ASUS PH emailed to me after the event.

The front is filled with a small notification LED, earpiece, front camera, proximity sensor, 4-inch screen, and three capacitive Android buttons without backlight. The back contains the main camera and speakers. For where two microSIM and microSD slot should open the back cover first. Fortunately can be done without having to remove the battery.

The left side of the phone is loaded with the lock / power and volume, while only a microUSB port on the right side. Top there is a 3.5mm headset port and the bottom mic hole there.

UI Interface

Usually low-nan powerful Android smartphones currently using the MTK processor or Qualcomm's long series plus 512MB RAM only. But ASUS provide an alternative that is dual-core processor from Intel combined RAM mid-end phones that is 1GB. Zenfone 4 using 4.3 Jellybean out of the box with a promise of updates Kitkat 4.4.

ASUS this time it looks serious to customize a new look called ZenUI. Interface ZenUI we think is a combination of MIUI and LenovoUI plus a little look at the lockscreen and BB10 SenseUI widgets on the display. Not a bad thing but a smart way to take the positives from another UI.

ZenUI want to provide an informative experience and ease of access. This is already visible in the lockscreen, which provided a shortcut to the camera menu, dial, and text. Weather information is also displayed in addition to the date and time, and also the daily agenda of the user. Since it was Jellybean 4.3 then the user can also add a widget to widget-option here.

Access is available to a maximum of 9 homescreen pages that can be filled in a variety of widgets, folder or shortcut. Getting into apps drawer, it looks exactly the standard Android only only appearance in a custom so it looks more attractive.

There are two different windows when doing gesture swipe down from the top of the screen. If in the right area will bring up a quick toggle to multiple setting options, whereas if on the left will bring up a notification window.

As far as we do the review, Zenfone 4 is able to do the work quickly and lag free. The interface is a lot of customization is also not slow down the process of changing pages. 8GB of internal memory supplied, only about 4.6 GB which can be used, still quite enough for the class.

Performance

Zenfone 4 might be cheap, but it's not that slow when it comes to performance. As far as subjective usage goes, we did find ourselves waiting for apps to load, but at least ZenUI transitions are quick and fluid. Basic games such as Temple Run 2 were good enough, Dead Trigge 2 quit long to load but i havent experience any lag playing the games.i havent try NBA 2k13, Aspahalt 8 since i having a problem with regards to storage.

Antutu Score : 15210

Camera

Zenfone 4 has two cameras, one in front with 0.3 MP resolution (640x360 pixels) and camera rear 5MP resolution (2592 x 1944) autofocus but no LED flash. Not all the features possessed Pixel Master lowered his brothers, recorded only modes using existing software-only processing (Time Rewind, Smart Remove, Turbo Burst, Depth of Field, HDR, All Smile, Snowball Effect, Miniature Mode, Beautification , Selfie), Low Light Mode for absences due to need a better camera module. However given setting are complete.

For the quality of the images, as we try out the room look bright, natural coloring, sharp enough, but the center of the camera looks pinkish, so for a white object so it does not change color. The same was brought into the room, a white object becomes stained pink. To the presence of noise can be understandable and not too severe.

The interface integrates camera and video recording, and therefore provided two buttons for photo and video. When recording video shooting can also be coupled with appropriate resolution video resolution. The 5MP camera on the back is capable of recording up to 1080p FullHD resolution saved in MP4 format with a size that is not too big.

Battery

This is the point where he makes prospective buyers stop in awe with Zenfone 4. Yes, although  this is the only one who can change the battery between 5 and 6, but Zenfone 4 is only equipped with a Lithium Ion battery with a capacity of 1600mAh was kind enough (or indeed aware of the capacity is very less). The battery is claimed to have a stand by time up to 192 hours and talk time up to 10 hours.

In anticipation of the software, the application contained ZenUI Battery Saving Mode. There are three options for the profile of the first Ultra Saving Mode, Optimized Mode, and Customized Mode. We tested the 720p MKV format video play for an hour, the battery was reduced 17% from 100% to 83%, with 50% screen brightness conditions, inactive mobile WiFi connection only.

Our estimates if it is used as a main phone with internet connected to common services used (email, social media, browsing, etc.) the battery can only last a maximum of 5 hours use only.

Overall Conclusion

Maybe you all can conclude if seen from a given specification and is priced price, this phone is worth a consideration if you want to buy a branded  Android smartphones for a low cost. Even after we do the review Zenfone 4 did not disappoint us. The promise of a fresh interface update Kitkat and Zen is also an added value. Origin can maintain quality, we believe ASUS could bulldoze its competitors in the low-end.

Pros

  • Specifications and performance qualified at low price.
  • Filled many applications built with value-added.
  • The battery can be changed.
  • Good quality screen than its competitors.

Cons

  • Minimal capacity battery.
  • Reflective layers on the screen.
  • No included Earphone on the box.
  • Quit Long when loading games.
