MediaTek unleashes MediaTek MT6595. The worlds first 4G LTE Octa-core smartphone SOC powered by ARM Cortex A-17 and Ultra HD H.265 codec support. The new smartphone promises superior multi-tasking performance and a world class multi-media subsystem aside for being the first in the world to utilize Multimode Wireless Charging Reciever IC.



Other features include:

• 20 megapixel camera capability and a high-definition WQXGA (2560 x 1600) display controller

• MediaTek ClearMotion for smooth video playback at 60fps

• MediaTek MiraVision technology for DTV-grade picture quality

• support for WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth LE and ANT+ for ultra-low power connectivity with fitness tracking devices

• support for Multi-standard inductive and resonant wireless charging



The MT6595 platform will be commercially available by the first half of 2014, with devices expected in the second half of the year.

As ASUS promised for a cheap yet powerful PC last year, finally the waiting is over as ASUS delivers their compact and inexpensive Chromebox, a simple PC setup with bells and whistles.


ASUS Chromebox has three engine choices the  Intel Celeron 2955U, i3-4010 or 4th Gen Intel Core i7 processor. All engine are paired to an Intel HD Graphics GPU and a choice between 2GB or 4GB of RAM. ASUS Chromebox is equipped with a plethora of ports which include four USB 3.0s, a pair of ports for video out (HDMI and DisplayPort), an audio jack, as well as an RJ-45 port.

However ASUS has given the Chromebox a fairly small onboard storage which can only hold up to about 16GB worth of data to keep the prices on the low end. Also, for USD999 ASUS hooks you up with a camera with Carl Zeiss lens, a Remote control, as well as a fancy Speaker with Microphone and built-in DSP.
